Foodie Fridays: {fōnuts}

If there is one thing that you should know about me, it’s the fact that I love food. However, that wasn’t always the case. For the first 23 years of my life (yes, I’m only 24…) I refused to eat things that I considered “gross,” but THANKFULLY that is something that I’m finally growing out of.


That brings me to this post. Donuts. I’ve always loved donuts. Growing up I used to BEG my parents for donuts in the morning and living in LA, there are practically donut shops at every corner. So when I heard about fōnuts in West Hollywood, I knew I had to go.


Here’s the thing — fōnuts aren’t actually donuts. They are lacking everything that makes donuts so stinking good, but they are a great alternative if you’re looking for a “healthier option.”

All fōnuts are completely gluten free and most of them are even VEGAN. Unlike traditional donuts, fōnuts are either baked or steamed; they are never fried.


While these don’t taste like regular donuts, they are still pretty dang good. I tried the red velvet, banana, glazed, and raspberry vanilla ones and they were delicious. The only downside to these vegan treats — they are EXPENSIVE AF. Like really expensive. For 4 fōnuts, I paid $14. LIKE WHAT IS THAT?! But that’s just LA for ya!
